Students must never enter or operate any laboratory equipment without the presence of a faculty member or authorized lab assistant. All experiments must be conducted under proper supervision, and unsupervised access to labs is strictly prohibited for safety reasons.
All labs are equipped with fire extinguishers, first-aid kits, emergency showers, and eye-wash stations. Students must familiarize themselves with the location of these safety devices and the nearest emergency exit before commencing any practical work.
Consumption of food, beverages, or chewing gum is strictly prohibited inside all laboratories. This rule exists to prevent contamination of experiments and to protect students from accidental ingestion of hazardous chemicals or biological agents.
All chemical waste, biological specimens, and broken glassware must be disposed of in designated containers following established safety protocols. Chemicals must never be poured down the drain, and sharps must be placed in puncture-resistant containers to prevent injury.
Any accidents, spills, equipment malfunctions, or injuries, no matter how minor, must be reported to the supervising faculty or lab assistant immediately. Incident reports are documented to prevent future occurrences and to ensure the continued safety of all lab users.
